DMSRDE Paid Internship Recruitment 2026 Overview

DMSRDE has announced paid internships for final-year students pursuing full-time Engineering or Science UG/PG courses. The internship is not a regular job and does not create any right to employment in DRDO after completion.

Discipline-wise Internship Seats

The notified vacancies are indicative and may increase or decrease at the discretion of DMSRDE. However, the total number of internship seats will be capped at 20.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates should check both course eligibility and academic performance requirements before applying. The internship is only for final-year students in the relevant discipline.

• Applicant must be an Indian citizen.
• Applicant must be pursuing a full-time Graduate or Post Graduate course in Engineering or Science in the relevant discipline.
• Only final-year students are eligible.
• The course must be from a recognised Indian University or Institute.
• The student should have 65% marks and above, or at least 6.5 CGPA, from an AICTE/UGC approved college or university.
• The institute must send a request letter for its deserving and meritorious student.

Age Limit

The age limit for the DMSRDE Paid Internship 2026 is below 28 years as on 15 June 2026.

Stipend and Duration

The paid internship will be for 6 months at DMSRDE, Kanpur. Selected interns will receive Rs. 5,000 per month, subject to the attendance and completion conditions mentioned in the advertisement.

The stipend is applicable only when the student is present at the laboratory for at least 15 working days in a month.

Selection Process

DMSRDE will select eligible students based on academic merit, CGPA, online interview or interaction if required, and satisfactory verification of documents.

• High School mark sheet
• All previous mark sheets of the concerned UG or PG course
• Copy of photo identity card issued by the Institute or University
• Student bio-data
• Mark sheet reflecting CGPA
• Copy of latest Aadhaar Card, as listed in the application checklist

How to Apply for DMSRDE Paid Internship 2026

1. Download the official DMSRDE Paid Internship advertisement and application form from the DRDO vacancies page.
2. Check the eligible branch code and discipline before filling the form.
3. Fill the prescribed application form carefully with personal, academic, discipline, CGPA, address and email details.
4. Attach the mandatory request letter from the Principal, Director, Dean or HOD of the institute.
5. Attach all required documents and undertakings.
6. Send an advance copy of the application and documents by email to director.dmsrde@gov.in on or before 15 June 2026.
7. Send the hard copy by Speed Post or submit it by hand at the DMSRDE Main Gate before the deadline.
8. Mention “Application for Paid Internship” and the relevant branch code on the top of the envelope.

Application Submission Address

The hard copy of the application and documents must be sent or submitted to the following address:

Director, Defence Materials and Stores R&D Establishment (DMSRDE), Defence R&D Organization (DRDO), GT Road, Kanpur-208013.

The advance copy must also be sent by email to director.dmsrde@gov.in. The application must reach DMSRDE before the cut-off date and time.

Documents Required at the Time of Joining

Selected students will need to submit additional documents at the time of joining. These documents are required for verification, security and administrative compliance.

• Reference or request letter
• Letter from college for paid internship
• Bonafide certificate from the college
• Original No Objection Certificate from college authorities on college letterhead
• Police verification from hometown or place of residence, if selected
• Undertaking for adherence to the Indian Official Secrets Act, 1923
• Undertaking to follow IT Rules and Regulations applicable for Ministry of Defence
• Bank details for stipend transfer
• Original Aadhaar Card and college ID card for verification
• Three passport-size photographs
• All previous semester mark sheets in original for verification, or a college letter certifying that the original certificates are held with the college

Important Conditions for Interns

• No boarding or lodging expenses will be provided by DMSRDE.
• DMSRDE does not provide accommodation; students must arrange it on their own.
• Mobile phones, pen drives, portable hard disks and laptops are strictly prohibited inside the DMSRDE campus.
• No leave except sick leave with valid prescription will be given.
• Interns must follow DMSRDE rules, security procedures and IT rules during the internship.
• The internship may be terminated if a student is involved in any disciplinary activity.
• Completion of internship does not create any claim or right for employment in DMSRDE or DRDO.
• If a student leaves before completing the internship, the completion certificate will not be issued and no payment will be made.
