CSIR UGC NET June 2026 Application Form Date

The National Testing Agency has released the public notice and information bulletin for Joint CSIR UGC NET June 2026. The exam is conducted to determine eligibility of Indian nationals for Junior Research Fellowship, appointment as Assistant Professor, appointment as Assistant Professor with Ph.D. admission, and admission to Ph.D. only in Indian universities and colleges, subject to the rules mentioned in the official bulletin.

The application process is completely online. Candidates have to register, fill the application form, upload scanned documents, pay the fee and download the confirmation page through the official CSIR NET portal. NTA has clearly stated that applications in any mode other than online will not be accepted.

Before applying, candidates should check the qualification, category-wise marks, age limit for JRF, subject code, exam city choices and document upload requirements. Since NTA does not verify eligibility during online registration, the candidature remains provisional and can be cancelled later if the candidate is found ineligible.

CSIR UGC NET June 2026 Application Form Date

The online application window for Joint CSIR UGC NET June 2026 is from 27 May 2026 to 19 June 2026 up to 11:50 PM. Candidates who complete the form must also pay the examination fee by 20 June 2026 up to 11:50 PM.

The correction facility will be available from 22 June 2026 to 23 June 2026 up to 11:50 PM. The city intimation slip, admit card, answer key display and result date will be announced later on the official NTA website.

Who Can Apply for CSIR UGC NET June 2026

General, Unreserved and General-EWS candidates need at least 55% marks without rounding off in a Master’s degree or equivalent examination from a recognized university or institution. OBC-NCL, SC, ST, PwD, PwBD and Third Gender candidates need at least 50% marks without rounding off in the qualifying Master’s degree or equivalent examination.

Final-year Master’s degree candidates, result-awaited candidates and candidates whose qualifying examination has been delayed can also apply provisionally. They must complete the required qualification within the time limit mentioned in the information bulletin, failing which they will be treated as disqualified.

Four-year Bachelor’s Degree Eligibility

Candidates who have passed a four-year or eight-semester bachelor’s degree programme must have at least 75% marks in aggregate or an equivalent grade. A 5% relaxation may be available for SC, ST, OBC-NCL, Differently-Abled, EWS and other eligible categories as per applicable UGC rules.

Candidates qualifying CSIR UGC NET on the basis of a four-year undergraduate degree will be eligible for Junior Research Fellowship and Ph.D. admission, but they will not be eligible for appointment as Assistant Professor on that basis. Final-year four-year bachelor’s degree candidates may also apply provisionally as per the official conditions.

For JRF, relaxation up to 5 years is available to OBC-NCL, SC, ST, PwD, PwBD, Third Gender candidates and women applicants. Relaxation may also apply for eligible research experience and armed forces service, but total age relaxation on those grounds must not exceed 5 years.

How to Apply for CSIR UGC NET June 2026

  1. Visit the official website at https://csirnet.nta.nic.in/.
  2. Open the registration link for Joint CSIR UGC NET June 2026.
  3. Register with your own email ID and mobile number and note the system-generated application number.
  4. Fill the application form carefully with personal, educational, category, subject and exam city details.
  5. Upload the photograph, signature and applicable certificates in the prescribed format.
  6. Pay the examination fee through Net Banking, Debit Card, Credit Card or UPI.
  7. Download and save the confirmation page after successful payment.

The form is not complete unless the application details, uploads and fee payment are successfully completed. Candidates are not required to send the hard copy of the confirmation page to NTA.

Documents and Upload Requirements

Candidates should choose the subject carefully while filling the form. The subject and exam city choices cannot be changed by NTA after the correction period closes.

Exam Pattern and Medium

The Joint CSIR UGC NET June 2026 exam will be conducted in Computer Based Test mode. The paper will contain objective type multiple-choice questions and will have three parts: Part A, Part B and Part C. There will be no break between the parts.

The paper will be bilingual in Hindi and English. If there is any ambiguity between the Hindi and English versions, the English version will be treated as final.

Admit Card, City Intimation and Result Updates

The city intimation slip and admit card dates have not been announced yet. NTA will publish these updates later on the official CSIR NET website. Admit cards will not be sent by post, so candidates must download them online.

After the examination, the display of recorded responses, provisional answer key and result declaration will also be announced on the NTA website. Candidates should keep their application number, confirmation page, fee proof and uploaded photograph copies safely for future stages.
