Selection Process and Rank Generation

Admission rank is generated using both the entrance examination score and the qualifying examination score. The official selection procedure gives 60% weightage to CEE 2026 marks and 40% weightage to the aggregate score in the qualifying examination.

Component Weightage
Scores obtained in CEE 2026 60%
Aggregate score in qualifying examination 40%
Total 100%

For candidates whose qualifying examination marks are uploaded later, the marks entered in the portal must match the original marks card. Any mismatch or misrepresentation can lead to disqualification and the next candidate in the waiting list may be called as per the admission process.

Domicile, Reservation and Exam Centre Rules

RIE admissions follow domicile and institute mapping for several programmes. For example, RIE Ajmer, RIE Bhopal, RIE Bhubaneswar, RIE Mysuru and NERIE Shillong cover different states and union territories for relevant courses, while some programmes such as Integrated M.Sc.Ed. at RIE Mysuru and M.A. Education Technology at RIE Nellore are listed on an all-India basis.

Reservation is available for SC, ST, OBC, PwD and EWS candidates as per Government of India policy. Candidates claiming reservation must produce the required certificate in the approved format. For OBC-NCL, the official reservation document mentions that the certificate should be issued on or after 1 April 2026.

Candidates can choose an exam city from the official centre list. The centre list includes cities across India, and the notice says that any city or centre may be added or deleted later depending on the number of registered candidates.

After Applying: Admit Card, Marks Upload and Admission

After submitting the application, candidates should regularly log in to the CEE portal for admit card download, qualifying marks entry, answer key notice, result and admission-related instructions. The admit card download window is scheduled from 20 June 2026 to 28 June 2026.
