The recruitment is for regular Group C posts under the Judgeship of Balangir. The posts are governed by the Odisha District and Civil Courts Judicial Staff Services rules and the scheme of examination framed by the District Recruitment Committee, Balangir.

Post-Wise Vacancy and Pay Scale

The notification lists 27 vacancies across four posts. The number of vacancies may increase or decrease as per the decision of the authority.

Reservation for women, PwD, ex-servicemen and sports persons will be applied as per relevant State Government rules and instructions.

Eligibility Criteria

The qualification is different for the clerical and typing posts compared with the Salaried Amin post. Candidates should apply only for the post for which they meet the full educational and technical requirements.

All candidates must be able to speak, read and write Odia and must have passed a test in Odia equivalent to M.E. standard, unless covered by the qualification accepted in the notification.

Age Limit and Relaxation

The age requirement is common across the notified posts. Candidates must be 18 years or above and below 42 years of age on the last date fixed for receipt of applications, which is 24 June 2026.

Upper age relaxation for reserved category candidates will be allowed as per the relevant Acts, rules, orders or instructions applicable to the respective reserved categories.

Candidates should enter their date of birth carefully in the Form-A application format and attach the supporting educational certificates used as proof of age.

How to Apply Offline

Candidates have to apply in the prescribed Form-A format given with the official advertisement. There is no online application form for this recruitment.

1. Download and read the official advertisement and application format.
2. Fill the application form by hand with correct personal, educational and category details.
3. Attach self-attested copies of all required certificates and post-specific documents.
4. Affix the recent passport-size photograph in the space provided and attach additional photographs as required.
5. Mention the name of the post in capital letters on the top of the application and on the envelope.
6. Send the application through Registered Post or Speed Post, or drop it in the box kept inside the Civil Court premises, Balangir during office hours on working days.

Documents Required with Application

The document list differs slightly for the general Group C posts and Salaried Amin. Candidates should attach only valid, self-attested documents and keep originals ready for later verification.

For Junior Clerk-cum-Copyist, Junior Typist and Stenographer Grade-III, candidates generally need to attach the following:

• Self-attested copies of +3 certificate and mark sheet or equivalent qualification.
• Self-attested copies of +2 certificate and mark sheet.
• Self-attested copies of H.S.C. or equivalent certificate and mark sheet.
• Diploma in Computer Application certificate from a recognized institute.
• Technical certificate for Junior Typist or Stenographer Grade-III, where applicable.
• Caste certificate, PwD certificate, sports or ex-servicemen document, where applicable.
• Employment Exchange Registration certificate.
• Self-declaration regarding marital status and undertaking regarding no criminal antecedent.
• Three self-addressed envelopes with Rs. 60 postage stamp on each.
• Three recent passport-size photographs.
• Two original character certificates issued by Gazetted Officer, Medical Practitioner, Sarpanch or other accepted authority.
• Odia pass certificate, if the candidate has not passed Odia as a subject during study.

For Salaried Amin, candidates generally need to attach the following:

• H.S.C. or equivalent certificate and mark sheet.
• Diploma in Computer Application certificate from a recognized institute.
• Employment Exchange Registration certificate.
• Revenue Inspector training certificate.
• Category, PwD, sports or ex-servicemen certificate, where applicable.
• Three recent passport-size photographs and three self-addressed stamped envelopes.
• Two original character certificates, Odia pass certificate where needed, marital status declaration and undertaking regarding no criminal antecedent.

Government servants and candidates working under State or Central Government PSUs should submit a No Objection Certificate from their controlling authority.

Application Fee

No examination fee is required for Balangir District Court Group C Recruitment 2026. Candidates should not attach any demand draft, challan or fee payment proof unless a later official notice specifically asks for it.

Even though there is no exam fee, candidates must arrange the required self-addressed envelopes with postage stamps as mentioned in the official notification.

Selection Process

The selection process will be conducted in stages. The exact sequence and qualifying standards depend on the post applied for.

The date of written tests will be intimated later through post and through the official website of District Court, Balangir. The notification also states that written examination for all posts will be held on the same day, so a candidate applying for more than one post can appear for only one post as per their choice.

Exam Pattern and Marks

The exam pattern is post-specific. Candidates should prepare according to the post they apply for instead of using one common pattern for all posts.

For Junior Clerk-cum-Copyist, candidates securing the minimum required marks in the written test will be called for the Computer Science Practical Test. For Typist and Stenographer, speed and accuracy in the typing or shorthand stage are important before reaching the computer practical and viva stage.

Syllabus Highlights

The written and practical syllabus is clearly linked to the nature of the post. Candidates should focus on language, arithmetic, computer handling and the relevant technical skill.

• English: essay writing, letter or application writing, Odia to English translation, English to Odia translation and summary writing.
• Arithmetic: fractions, decimals, H.C.F., L.C.M., interest, percentages, profit and loss, partnership, averages, rates and taxes, insurance, square and cubic measures, time and work, and time and distance.
• General Knowledge: current events and matters of everyday observation expected from an educated person.
• Computer Practical: text formatting, table insertion, print and save, file transfer, website browsing, downloading email, pen-drive use and accounting-related software or programs.
• Junior Typist Skill Test: typing an English passage of 400 words through computer system in 10 minutes.
• Stenographer Skill Test: shorthand dictation of 400 words in English in 5 minutes and reproduction in type script in 10 minutes.
• Salaried Amin: Survey and Settlement theory and practical, Odia handwriting and Computer Application skill test.
